This is the Official Guide to the Edge of the Water Women’s Retreat Experience

*Here you will discover everything you need to know about a weekend designed for relaxation, rejuvenation, and meaningful connection.

Retreat Dates and information

Retreat dates: October 23rd, 24th and 25th.
Cost: $155 for the weekend based on double occupancy in a room
A love offering will be taken at the retreat for our speaker.

Guest Speaker: Barb Lownsbury
Get ready to meet Barb Lownsbury—the kind of speaker you’d genuinely enjoy chatting with over a cup of coffee: down-to-earth, relatable, and full of hard-won wisdom. Barb brings a practical, hope-filled touch to everything she does.
Open Registration: May 15th (Mail or Online Options – with a $5 processing fee for credit card payment)
Register early: We are expecting a full crowd with a possible sellout this year.
Cancellation Policy:
Full refunds until September 1. 2024 50% refunds until October 1, 2024
No refunds will be available after October 1, 2024; however, you may transfer your registration to someone else if you are not able to attend. They will be assigned to the room you were in.
BAPTISM:
New this year – you will have the opportunity to be baptized in Lake Erie. Weather permitting this will happen on Saturday after lunch. You should bring something to be baptized in and a thick towel and/or robe.

Retreat Schedule

Registration time will be from 5:00-7:15 on Friday, October 24.

When you arrive – follow the signs to the Lakeshore Lodge to register (turn on Indiana Avenue) – DO NOT go to the cottages – even if staying in one – come to lodge first to register.

Important Note: Doors to the lodge will not open until 5p.m. Please do not come before then.

What to Bring to Retreat

-Clothing – casual and comfortable. Note dressing in layers is helpful

-Water bottle/coffee tumbler

-Bible, notebook, pen

-Extra towel (those provided are small)

-Baptism clothes (if you choose)

-Toiletries

-Walking shoes

-Pillow – if you need a certain firmness

-Snack to share

-Love offering and money for raffle

Art Raffle

At this year’s retreat, indulge in the chance to take home a truly unique treasure. Our exclusive Art Raffle features exquisite creations from talented local artists — from hand-sewn purses and intricate textiles to luminous oil paintings and captivating mixed media works. Each piece is one-of-a-kind, crafted with passion and artistry. Tickets will be available only during the retreat, making this a rare opportunity to support our retreat and perhaps claim a beautiful work of art that speaks to your heart.

Tickets will be available for a dollar each or 12 tickets for $10. These will be available at the retreat so bring cash.  We also have some wonderful door prizes.

Dining options

Complimentary meals are included in your registration!  It is our desire that you join us for meals. If  you choose to, you are welcome to bring your own food or visit a restaurant in the area.
Beulah Beach will accommodate dietary restrictions for those who are Gluten free or have dairy issues. Please indicate this on your registration form

Directions to Beulah Beach

COMING FROM THE EAST

1 – COMING FROM INTERSTATE 90

        •   On Interstate 90 heading west, pick up Route 2 at Elyria heading west

        •   Drive to the Vermilion exit (Route 60) turn right (North)

        •   Drive north on Route 60 to downtown Vermilion, junction with Route 6

        •   Turn left on Route 6, drive 5 miles to Beulah Beach turn right

            LOOK FOR OUR BALLOONS

2 – TAKING THE TURNPIKE FROM THE CLEVELAND AREA

        •   Take the 80/90 turnpike West to Exit 135 – Baumhart Rd. turn left (North)

        •   Drive to Route 2 turn West on Route 2

        •   Drive to Vermilion Exit (Route 60) turn right

        •   Drive north on Route 60 to downtown Vermilion, junction with Route 6

        •   Turn left on Route 6, drive 5 miles to Beulah Beach turn right

            LOOK FOR OUR BALLOONS

COMING FROM MICHIGAN OR TOLEDO

        •   Take Route 23 South to the Ohio Turnpike (Salsbury Rd Exit) follow signs to turnpike

        •   Or take I-75 South to I-280 South to the turnpike

        •   Take the turnpike EAST to Exit 110 (route4) turn left (North) on Route 4 Sandusky

        •   Drive five miles to Route 2 turn East on Route 2

        •   Drive 13 1/2 miles to Hwy 61 BERLIN HEIGHTS EXIT (NOT Berlin Rd) turn left

        •   Drive 1/2 mile to Route 6 and turn right (flashing overhead light)

        •   Drive 3 miles to Beulah Beach turn left – LOOK FOR OUR BALLOON

COMING FROM THE SOUTH

          •    Take 71 north to Exit 186 (Ashland) take Hwy 250 North to Savannah

        •   Junction with Hwy 60 and go North

        •   At Clarksfield, take Hwy 18 west to Hwy 601 (about 10 miles)

        •   Drive north to Route 61 turn North to Route 6 turn right

        •   Drive 3 miles to Beulah Beach turn left – LOOK FOR OUR BALLOONS
