WHAT IS A STREAM? 

IF YOU ARE NEW TO EDGE OF THE WATER THIS IS WHAT WE CALL THE OPPORTUNITIES AVAILABLE FOR YOU TO ENJOY DURING FREE TIME.  YOU ARE NOT REQUIRED TO PARTICIPATE IN A STREAM BUT WE HAVE PROVIDED OPTIONS FOR YOU IF YOU CHOOSE TO PARTICIPATE. RESTING IN YOUR ROOM OR ENJOYING A BOOK IS ALWAYS AN OPTION 

Creative Streams:

  • Still Life with Lisa– Step by Step instructions will guide you to paint and take home a 6×6 canvas of sunflowers. Learn brush techniques as well as the peaceful enjoyment of painting. To help the cost of supplies the stream cost $3 extra.

  • Card Making Workshop- Card making is a craft and a skill! Nothing says “I care about you” more than a handmade card designed with that person in mind. Learn how to stamp, cut, embellish, and more amazing hacks. Leave this workshop with 2 handmade cards to give to someone you care about
  Adventure Streams:
  • Old Woman Creek Exploration–  Old Woman Creek is a protected as a State Nature Preserve and a National Estuarine Research Reserve and for our retreat only it has opened the visitor center on a weekend it is normally closed.  Not only have they opened the doors, but a naturalist will provide an educational program about this natural gem.  After her program,  you are free to explore one of the trails or sit by the bird-feeders and enjoy the beauty that our Heavenly Father made just for you.
Learning Streams:
  • Bridge with Judy- Learn to play this classic card game with Judy!    
 
  • Food Preservation- Mrs. Dash step aside! The art of preserving food is a skill that will be taught by Toni, a homesteader.  She will teach you how to preserve food through dehydrating and freeze drying. Each lady will leave with their own mix melody of herbs and spices. There is a $3 cost for this Stream to help with the cost of herbs and supplies.
Relaxing Streams:
  •  Needle Craft Niche- Bring your own supplies and craft away my hookers and knitters! Sew away my stitch queens and my embroiderer empress’s. To those of us who know how to read (3dc,sc,3dc,4sc,sk,ch)or (pearl 28 and cast off) or to those of us who want to learn the art form that can take a wand and “poof” a sweater pops out we invite you by the fire to join us.
  • Shop til you Drop- Vermillion Ohio is a few miles done the road and filled with quaint shops waiting for you to explore.
